CB Cares EF champions two friendraising events each year to celebrate our community and raise awareness of the importance of the innovative learning opportunities we foster through our programs and grants.
10th Annual CB Cares EF Celebrity Chef & Waiter Gala – Mark your calendar for June 4, 2017
In 1996, Doylestown Hospital’s CEO Richard Reif and CBSD’s superintendent Dr. Robert Laws has a vision to create an organization that would keep our youth and community healthier and CB Cares EF was born. CB Cares EF hosts a spring gala that features a “celebrity wait staff” that serves and showcases locally grown and produced food as well as the incredible culinary talent in the area. This entertaining culinary dining event features a silent auction and VIP Reception. All proceeds from this event go towards the continuation of the drug and alcohol initiatives and programs of the CB Cares Educational Foundation.
“Why My Mother Deserves the Celebrity Treatment” Essay Contest
Students in Central Bucks will have an opportunity to put into words why they believe they have the greatest mom of all. The sixth annual Mother’s Day Essay Contest is open to all CBSD students and held in conjunction with CBCEF’s Celebrity Chef & Waiter Gala. Students are encouraged to write essays of 250 words or less about “Why My Mother Deserves the Celebrity Treatment.” Four winning essays will be selected by a committee and winners will be announced the week of May 7th.
Grand Prize: The lucky mother of each winning author will receive a pair of tickets to the Celebrity Chef & Waiter Gala on Sunday, June 4th and VIP swag bag the night of the event (total value $350).
Contest Rules: Each essay must be 250 words or less. The student’s name, grade level, and school must appear on the top of each essay. The student should write about “Why My Mother Deserves the Celebrity Treatment” and deserves a special evening out to be treated like a celebrity.

Pumpkinfest – Mark your calendar for October 21, 2017
Pumpkinfest is a the long-standing tradition amidst the illuminated archways of the Moravian Tile Works in historical Doylestown that showcase eighteen area artists who carve out enormous 300 lb pumpkin squash. Carvers can spend up to six hours to sculpt, carve, and create their glowing works. This drug and alcohol-free countywide event offers live music, food trucks, and amusements. Many people may not realize that this enchanted event also supports and emphasizes the important message of ATOD ( Alcohol, Drug and tobacco and other drugs) prevention and is the culmination of CBSD’s Red Ribbon week, a national initiative that promotes the important message to students about being “drug-free”. All proceeds will go towards the continuation of the drug and alcohol initiatives and programs of CB Cares Educational Foundation.
