This moving opening ceremony engages area choirs, youth performers and brings together members of the inner-faith community as we honor the revolutionary spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Bucks County (Pa) Chapter of The Links Incorporated is truly excited to partner again with Second Baptist Church of Doylestown ,Bucks County Jack and Jill, Alpha Kappa Alpha, and SUEZ to commemorate Dr.King’s Legacy – Day of Service.
We will be sorting and organizing clothing donations at the Second Baptist Church of Doylestown for the benefit of:
A Woman’s Place
In Full Swing
Worthwhile Thrift Store
Bucks County Opportunity Council
Christ’s Home for Children
Most needed items are the following:
* Women’s clothing
* Children’s new and gently used winter clothing sizes new born to 16
* Boys and Girls tops or bottoms
* Boys and Girls Winter coats
* Winter Hats and Gloves
* Small /Travel Size Toiletries
Breakfast Bag Items:
* Fruit Snacks
* Small containers of non-perishable fruit
* Individual instant coffee/instant tea bags
* Instant breakfast packets, Granola bars, individually wrapped pastries/muffins, individual instant oatmeal packets
* Gallon sized Ziploc bags
* Plastic spoons.

Assemble dinners for the needy:
Participants will be asked to bring a cooked item to the event. This activity is suitable for families with older children (7 & up ). Please contact contact Janene Raisman (215-674-0685) about your donation.
Make “Breakfast Bags” and cards for the hungry.
This activity is suitable for families, particularly those with very young children.

We are seeking the following donations for the Breakfast bags:
- Box of tea bags
- Box of hot chocolate
- Box of individual oatmeal packets
- Granola or breakfast bars
- Package of individual grape or apple juice boxes
- Packages of individual fruit cups
Help assemble Breakfast Bags and create inspiring greeting cards for our elderly and frail neighbors. A wonderful intergenerational service project, ideal for students in 1st – 5th grades! We ask each person/group participating in our project to bring one (or more) food items with them.

- Single-serving cereal boxes
- Single-serving coffee packs
- Package of single serving fruit cups

Calling all young game board enthusiasts! We need to play your favorite game board with the residents of Neshaminy Manor. This inter generational service project is a great way for you to get to know some of the elderly in our community. Two sessions being offered 10 -11:30 am or 2 – 3:30 pm. Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be having a variety of projects to help those in need. The projects will include no sew fleece blankets and activity bags for St Christopher’s hospital and washcare kits for the homeless in Philadelphia. Open to children 5th grade and up. Space is limited. Activities will begin after the CB Cares morning ceremony in the OLMC school cafeteria. Contact: Laura at – firstname.lastname@example.org.
Barclay Elementary School will again this year be partnering with A Woman’s Place of Bucks County. We are collecting travel-sized toiletry products from each grade level in order to assemble hospitality packages for new shelter residents. We will also be collecting crayons and coloring books from our Kindergarten level for the children residents. Finally, as in past years, we will also do a general collection of new or gently worn clothing. For more information contact email@example.com
Children from Gayman Elementary will be coloring fabric squares which will be made into quilts for the Quilts for Kids organization. They will also be creating cards and collecting tents for homeless youth to be donated to The Synergy Project. A book collection will be held for Philadelphia Reads to gather gently used books for kids in Philadelphia. Snack bags will be assembled so kids have 1 week worth of snacks for Bucks County Housing Group and meals will be prepared to help the Aid for Friends organization

CB Cares EF is currently recruiting middle and high school students for a new initiative, CB Cares Volunteer Teens. This student led volunteer council will provide opportunities to interact with community leaders, businesses and other non-profits and develop leadership skills through out the year.
