First, I would like to thank the Jones family for starting the Positive Coaching Award and CB Cares together with Dr. Todd Welsh at Bucks County Orthodontics for promoting, sponsoring and continuing this program today.

I am truly honored to have received this award as it is very important to me that our young athletes get positive instruction, motivation and support from all the coaches they come in contact with in their chosen sport(s).  I believe coaches have an obligation to develop athletes who are not only good at sports but who excel at life and for me that only comes from being a positive influence in their world.

Below is the note I sent to my team following the receipt of the Positive Coaching Award:

Hello Team,

I am truly honored and humbled by your nomination for and my selection as the recipient of the 2019 CB Cares Positive Coaching Award.

I coach soccer because I love the game and I want to make a positive difference in the life of young players.  To me there is no greater satisfaction than to help a young player develop their technical skills and abilities to play soccer in conjunction with the development of their self-confidence, self-esteem, self-control, work ethic, team work, communication, respect and sportsmanship; both on and off the field.

For the past 3 years I have been blessed with some of the best young athletes I have ever coached and the best group of parents and family members who support them. When a player looks back on the time spent with me as their coach and can say that they became a better player, teammate and friend, had lots of fun, were challenged to be the best and that they loved the game of soccer even more; then I will have done my job.

It all starts and ends with the players – their joy, enthusiasm and success is the game.

Again, I sincerely thank you Kimberly and CB Cares, Todd and his group at Bucks County Orthodontics and especially my players and their parents who have put their faith and trust in me to coach them.
