“Lose Your Rind” at Pumpkinfest 2019
On Saturday, October 19, CB Cares Educational Foundation, in partnership with the Bucks County Department of Parks and Recreation, will host the 27th annual Pumpkinfest amidst the archways of the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works in historic Doylestown.
The long-standing tradition of Pumpkinfest features the mastery of “Artist vs. Prizewinner Pumpkin.” For six hours these premier artists sculpt, carve, and bring to life Prizewinner pumpkins into glowing masterpieces. This event attracts people from all regions to witness the magical transformation that become aglow at dusk. Last year, more than 4,000 kids of all ages attended the celebration of Pumpkinfest.
CB Cares EF recognized the importance of maintaining the legacy of Pumpkinfest; in 2015, the organization began recruitment of the next generation of the District’s National Art Honor Society students to showcase their talents in the Youth Gallery and compete for a coveted ribbon, the Newfield Award. This year, CB Cares is encouraging even the youngest in our community to get involved through the Family Carving Gallery.
